The unit consolidates intermediate skills in ensemble performance developed in ATS1348 Ensemble studies 2. It includes the introduction of industry based professional practice skills, for example: select scores with consideration for copyright laws; maintain ensemble portfolios and inventories; monitor distribution and collection of scores and parts. The development of skills prepares you for the next unit in the sequence, ATS2801 Ensemble studies 4.

Learning outcomes
- Perform in a selected ensemble with ensemble skills approaching an advanced level (for example phrasing, blend, balance, group dynamics, preparation, interaction and participation);
- Perform in an ensemble context with individual technical and artistic control approaching an advanced level (for example, instrument specific techniques, accuracy, articulation, touch, tone quality and intonation);
- Competently perform select repertoire in an appropriate performance environment;
- Apply professional skills to ensemble practice.
