Overview

The unit extends advanced skills in composition and music technology by requiring you to refine a personal creative methodology influenced by various techniques and approaches. You will then apply this methodology to develop well-articulated concepts for original work that integrate several distinct layers of material. You will also organise a concert recital of your work or a produce recording of your work(s).

Requisites

Learning outcomes

1. Formulate and apply a compositional methodology from a range of acquired techniques and approaches to original work;
2. Generate original work for performance and/or recording;
3. Organise a concert recital or produce a recording of original work;
4. Produce an exegesis that accompanies original work.

Workload

Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 144 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of scheduled learning activities and independent study. Scheduled activities may include a combination of teacher directed learning, peer directed learning and online engagement.
