You will trace the impact of criminal justice across different jurisdictions. Focusing on case studies, you will contrast national and international examples of criminal justice and responses to crime: including policing, court processes, prosecution and punishment.

Learning outcomes
- identify and explain the benefits and challenges of comparative criminology across Europe; and between Europe and Australia;
- discuss and analyse practical and theoretical insights into the criminal justice system across Europe, including the impacts of the criminal justice system in multiple European jurisdictions and possible policy solutions;
- conduct and communicate independent research using a range of sources and applying theoretical concepts relevant to comparative criminal justice;
- collaborate in a group to deliver a presentation and design a piece of visual communication.
Workload
Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 288 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of scheduled learning activities and independent study.
