You will learn fundamental ensemble leadership techniques, including basic beat patterns, communication and organisational skills required by an ensemble director. You will be required to propose a program of works to be arranged and/or conducted for performance by an approved ensemble. You will develop approaches to interpretation, and refine baton techniques specific to your program choice.

- provide musical and artistic direction and ensemble management to a potentially disparate group of musicians to realise a successful performance;
- arrange and conduct an ensemble performance.
