This unit provides you with an opportunity to: a. Undertake a practical work placement with an NGO, community organization or other agency working on local and/or international issues of about eighty hours resulting in a substantial research report or other piece of written work; or b. Undertake a case study analysis for an NGO or community organization on an issue or problem of importance and relevance to that organisation. In both cases a supervisor will meet regularly with you to ensure that a carefully structured reading and writing program is developed in a manner directly relevant to the research topic.

- Have developed high level communication and presentation skills demonstrated through the completion of a practical task or report for that organization or about an issue of importance to it.
Workload
80-hours of volunteer work, six 2-hour class seminars and regular meetings with an academic supervisor.
