Overview

In this unit you will learn about the fundamentals of leading within university systems, the relationship between leadership and culture and the key skills required for successfully leading yourself, teams and change processes in a university setting. You will also apply leadership concepts, models and frameworks to the analysis of your leadership practice and to your leadership of teams and change projects across the university.

Workload

Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 175 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of scheduled learning activities and independent study. Independent study may include associated readings, assessment and preparation for scheduled activities. You are expected to complete all pre-class activities prior to your scheduled class and post-class activities should be completed after your scheduled class. Learning activities may include a combination of teacher directed, peer directed and on-line engagement activities. Post class activities may include self assessment against a capability framework, team development activities and the completion of a strategic change project.
