Overview

This is a practicum unit, part of the Master of Global Business which is underpinned by experiential learning that may take a number of forms including a work placement, a consulting project or a research project among others. You will undertake, either individually or as part of a group, a practicum project defined in consultation with the academic unit leader. The practicum project can be based either domestically or internationally and can be sourced from a diverse range of industries and sectors, including government, private industry and the not-for-profit sector. This practicum unit may also be based on an affiliated arrangement and carried out in association with an organisation although physical location at the organisation may not be required. You are required to satisfy a series of academic requirements that maximise your learning experience. Academic, and where applicable, host organisation requirements may vary. The aim of this unit is to expose you to the skill set relevant to the type of placement or project you are completing. Depending upon the specific arrangements, you may need to communicate your findings and or experience to the host organisation in the form of a report or presentation mutually agreed upon by the host organisation in consultation with the academic unit leader. This practical unit will provide you with the opportunity to engage in real-world business situations and in turn develop your ability to engage and communicate clearly and effectively as is fit for purpose with the intended audience.
