Overview

The unit focuses on advanced quantitative research methods used in a business research context. You will understand and review quantitative methods presented in research papers in accounting, management, or marketing and related fields. The unit will expose you to advanced quantitative methods that deal with cross-sectional, panel, and time-series data. You will learn how to design, conduct, analyse, and present advanced quantitative research as part of research projects intended for publication in the business disciplines.

Learning outcomes

  1. develop advanced quantitative skills to conduct high quality independent research in a business context
  2. develop a comprehensive grounding in a number of advanced quantitative methods of data production and analysis
  3. consider and evaluate data collection instruments, sampling strategies and the appropriateness of various types of data for research in a business context
  4. independently design and responsibly conduct all stages of a quantitative research project
