The objective of this unit is to teach you topics that are on the forefront of the academic literature related to behavioural finance, which combines elements of finance and psychology into a new field that has gained a lot of importance in recent times. Other topics that may be studied include those that have gained in importance in the top journals. The unit will provide an in-depth study of research papers and will also provide you with the skills necessary to conduct finance research.

Learning outcomes
- develop technical proficiency on topics covered in behavioural finance in order to be able to initiate and pursue HDR research
- enhance the capability of developing an original research topic
- undertake research in behavioural finance (or any other topic covered in the course) and related fields.
Workload
Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 144 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of scheduled learning activities and independent study. Independent study may include associated readings, assessment and preparation for scheduled activities. You are expected to complete all pre-class activities prior to your scheduled class, and post-class activities should be completed after your scheduled class. Learning activities may include a combination of teacher directed, peer directed and online engagement activities.
