In this unit, you explore the practice of combining drawing techniques and media through experimental methods. You are introduced to principles of subject framing, selection of appropriate viewpoints, and the combination of multiple views. You will develop background treatment to support clarity, emphasis, and communication of design intent, and compose pictorial settings to effectively communicate product design ideas.

Learning outcomes
- Understand drawing fundamentals of line, perspective, volume and form, and how to represent these through drawing;
- Apply drawing fundamentals in drawings of existing and imagined three dimensional forms;
- Communicate the connection between drawings and the intended purpose of the design;
- Reflect on how drawing choices influence user perception, human factors, and the communication of design purpose;
- Develop your own personal style that demonstrates proficiency of fundamentals and differentiates you as a designer;
- Demonstrate an ability to continue progression of your drawing skills beyond the unit.
