Overview
This unit introduces you to advanced methods for analysing and evaluating economic policies across areas such as, but not limited to, health, education, labour, public, environmental, and energy economics. You will learn how to apply causal inference, structural modelling, or/and data analysis to study policy interventions and inform real-world decision-making.

Learning outcomes
- apply advanced methods for evaluating economic policies, including causal inference or/and structural approaches;
- analyse policy interventions using empirical data and computational tools;
- evaluate evidence and modelling choices in policy-focused economic research.
Workload
Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 144 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of scheduled learning activities and independent study. Independent study may include associated readings, assessment and preparation for scheduled activities. You are expected to complete all pre-class activities prior to your scheduled class, and post-class activities should be completed after your scheduled class. Learning activities may include a combination of teacher directed, peer directed and online engagement activities.
