In this unit, you will be introduced to the companion concepts of creativity and criticality; arguably two of the most important skills for future ready citizens. As a future teacher, you will explore teaching and learning strategies intended to embed student creativity and critical thinking in curriculum areas of study. You will also practice designing learning activities that provide space for student creativity and critical thinking whilst also addressing subject learning outcomes and engage closely with questions about how these skills can be assessed in education. As a secondary teaching specialist, you will explore the concept of critical and creative thinking as both a general capability and its application across other disciplines and cross curriculum priorities. In this unit, you will achieve the knowledge outcomes by engaging as learners and reflective practitioners with a range of critical and creative pedagogical practices.
