This unit monitors primary professional experience in the Bachelor of Education (Honours). You will complete the required number of days and the activities specified in the professional experience guide. Your learning is supported by relevant staff in the Faculty of Education, and by teacher mentors in the education setting in which you are placed.

Workload
As a pre-service teacher, it is your professional responsibility to familiarise yourself with various professional codes and standards. These include, but are not limited to, the Victorian Teaching Profession's Code of Conduct, the Victorian Teaching Profession's Code of Ethics, Victorian Child Safe Standards, Australian Professional Standards for Teaching (APSTs) and others relevant to your placement setting. To prepare effectively for your professional experience, you are required to attend professional experience pre-placement workshop(s) and review all relevant information and resources provided on your Moodle site before beginning your placement. Your attendance and engagement with the pre-placement workshops will be recorded through Moodle task completion and must be completed two weeks prior to placement. Additionally, to graduate from your course, you must successfully complete all required professional experience days and other documentation as outlined in the professional experience expectations document.
