This unit will involve you completing a practical project concerning a real-life health data analytics research problem. You will be supervised by an analytics expert and guided through the design, formulation of an analysis plan, conduct and oral and written reporting of the results of the project. This will enable opportunities for synthesising and applying the skills in the Master of Health Data Analytics coursework. Note: Enrolment into this unit is by invitation from the Course Coordinator.

Learning outcomes
- Critically appraise relevant research literature for developing a solution to a particular health data analytics problem
- Identify the core health data analytics principles in health research relevant to the project
- Implement the necessary techniques to summarise and analyse the project data to answer the research question
- Communicate results arising from health data analyses to scientific and lay audiences across digital, written and audio modalities
Workload
Twelve hours per week, consisting of (on average): • 2 hours per week for reading relevant research material • 9 hours per week working on the health data analytics (i.e. data wrangling, analysis, report writing) • 1-hour face-to-face or zoom meetings with the project supervisor No residential component is required.
