Digitalisation can be thought of as the use of digital technologies, platforms, systems and methods to change business models, create new products and services and introduce new ways of generating value. Digital transformation is the innovative process of making a business digital in terms of its products, services, and/or operations. Building on a foundation in the study of the innovation process, and models such as design thinking, business model canvas, customer experience mapping and agile implementation this unit explores the contemporary application of innovation approaches for digital transformation.

Learning outcomes
- demonstrate advanced understanding and application of innovation and change management theory, models and frameworks
- demonstrate ability to recognise, evaluate and lead digital transformation
- demonstrate ability to direct one's learning through self-evaluation and the setting of realistic plans for development of innovation and change skills.
Workload
Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 144 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of scheduled learning activities and independent study. Independent study may include associated readings, assessment and preparation for scheduled activities. You are expected to complete all pre-class activities prior to your scheduled class, and post-class activities should be completed after your scheduled class. Learning activities may include a combination of teacher directed, peer directed and online engagement activities.
