Overview
Every organisation operates within an economic environment that shapes demand, investment, workforce availability and competitive advantage. In this unit, you will develop the economic judgement needed to interpret changing market conditions, understand the implications of economic policy and global events, and make informed organisational decisions in an increasingly interconnected world. Working with authentic organisational challenges, you will apply economic concepts to evaluate market behaviour, assess the impact of changing economic conditions and respond strategically to uncertainty. You will strengthen your ability to interpret economic evidence, critically evaluate human and AI-generated analyses, and make decisions that balance economic, financial, strategic, customer and sustainability considerations.

- justify business decisions by integrating economic evidence with diverse organisational perspectives.
Workload
Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 150 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of scheduled learning activities and independent study. Independent study may include associated readings, assessment and preparation for scheduled activities. You are expected to complete all pre-class activities prior to your scheduled class, and post-class activities should be completed after your scheduled class. Learning activities may include a combination of teacher directed, peer directed and online engagement activities.
