Overview
Every executive makes financial decisions, regardless of their professional background. In this unit, you develop the financial judgement to interpret organisational performance, allocate resources, evaluate investment opportunities and manage risk with confidence in increasingly complex and AI-enabled environments. Through authentic organisational scenarios, you apply financial accounting, management accounting and corporate finance concepts to real business challenges. You learn to work effectively with financial information and AI-enabled insights to make well-reasoned decisions and communicate recommendations that balance financial, strategic, customer, operational, ethical, sustainability and global perspectives.

Workload
Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 150 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of scheduled learning activities and independent study. Independent study may include associated readings, assessment and preparation for scheduled activities. You are expected to complete all pre-class activities prior to your scheduled class, and post-class activities should be completed after your scheduled class. Learning activities may include a combination of teacher directed, peer directed and online engagement activities.
