Overview
This unit takes a data-driven, multidisciplinary approach to understanding behaviour in organisations. A range of topics will be explored at the individual, interpersonal, group, and organisational levels, including but not limited to: personality, emotions, wellbeing and happiness, goals and motivation, judgment and decision-making, social influence, groups and teams, business ethics, leadership, and negotiation. You can expect to take away practical skills from this unit that will aid in personal and career development regardless of career path.

Learning outcomes
- analyse the major theories and concepts in organisational behaviour
- apply interpersonal communication, decision-making, and leadership skills within a team context
- critique contemporary perspectives in organisational behaviour through effective communication
- evaluate peer-reviewed research, case studies, articles, and popular press publications on major organisational behaviour topics
- solve real-world problems relating to the welfare of individuals, groups, and organisations through the application of theory and research in organisational behaviour
- demonstrate knowledge or skills for crafting sustainable futures for people, organisations, communities, and/or the environment
Workload
Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 144 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of scheduled learning activities and independent study. Independent study may include associated readings, assessment and preparation for scheduled activities. You are expected to complete all pre-class activities prior to your scheduled class, and post-class activities should be completed after your scheduled class. Learning activities may include a combination of teacher directed, peer directed and online engagement activities.
