Overview

In this unit you will examine the organisation of health care systems and the strategic approaches required to lead improvement and innovation. You will critically analyse system structures and apply relevant change management and leadership strategies. Theoretical foundations, including systems theory and implementation science, will be explored to support the design and implementation of effective health care initiatives. You will identify key interest and knowledge holders and develop engagement plans to support project planning and execution. You will investigate barriers and enablers to implementation at both individual and organisational levels, with a focus on developing strategies to enhance uptake and sustainability of innovations. You will also examine the role of data in evaluating health care improvement, identifying appropriate variables and outcomes to assess impact. You will finish the unit by developing a project plan, integrating principles of design, management, and evaluation to support health system improvement.
