This unit prepares you for placement and employment in the pharmaceutical science sector in an industry or research laboratory setting, by helping you to develop a range of interpersonal, management and other career-relevant skills. Your skill development will take place in the context of sustainability and corporate social responsibility as foundations for the ongoing ethical practice of pharmaceutical science. Upon completing this unit, you will possess a suite of professional skills and qualities that will allow you to maximise your engagement in a short-term placement, as well as an ongoing career, in the pharmaceutical and allied industries.

This unit contains one or more competency hurdle assessment tasks that you must successfully complete to be able to pass the unit. You have one attempt, plus an additional assessment capped at 50% of the available marks for the task, to demonstrate your competency in the competency hurdle assessment task. If you fail to meet the hurdle requirement, you will receive a fail grade for the unit regardless of the total marks you achieve.
