Overview

This elective unit is designed to meet your needs as a practitioner seeking to advance your knowledge and professional capability. The development of advanced professional capabilities will enable you to lead the design, implementation and evaluation of advanced practice programs in your discipline, in line with contemporary legal and ethical health care principles. You will study theory related to professional practice and service delivery. A professional practice framework for work-integrated learning will scaffold the development of advanced capability. You will use your current workplace experience to develop and be assessed on a range of advanced professional capabilities. Up to three weeks of the work-integrated learning period can be undertaken in a placement which is external to your current workplace and that has been approved by your specialisation lead as a Monash University approved service provider.
