Overview

This elective unit has been specifically designed to extend your knowledge and understanding of the principles, and the application of imaging techniques in radiation therapy to your clinical practice. In particular, the technology and techniques that underpin image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) will be studied with reference to its application in the clinical setting. Current knowledge and skills regarding cross-sectional imaging anatomy will be enhanced, with robust appraisal of IGRT practice to support quality improvements in the ongoing care of patients. Further, students who undertake this unit will explore and develop on their prior knowledge of contemporary IGRT using research-based evidence in a collegial manner with their peers.
