Urban design thesis consolidates advanced concepts, knowledge and skills encompassing a range of complex issues relevant to practising urban design at the scale of the city and regency. Through critical research, analysis and synthesis, the unit develops concepts, creative approaches, processes and outcomes and the skills to communicate these effectively to diverse communities.

Learning outcomes
- Critically reflect on and practice ethical approaches to contemporary urban design in diverse communities;
- Strategically respond to complex problems and develop innovative urban design responses, processes and outcomes;
- Apply advanced skills in urban design and research to address social and environmental issues in cities and regencies;
- Effectively communicate using advanced written, oral and graphic formats on issues pertaining to urban design;
- Understand and apply the rules of occupational health and safety appropriate to the unit of study.
