This project unit explores the implications of growth dynamics across multiple scales and territories. Through projects that focus on urban access and mobility, you will develop a detailed understanding of the determinants involved in creating quality and equitable living and work environments that are supported by connected transport infrastructure. You will build technical capacity, analytical approaches, creative responses and modes of articulation through planning and design scenarios and frameworks.

Learning outcomes
- Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of planning and design for sustainable urban growtn, including an in-depth understanding of the dynamics and determinants of mobility in relation to changing land use, as well as climate change, employment and societal impacts;
- Apply advanced research skills to systematically analyse and address current and future growth patterns, utilising data and critical analysis to inform planning and design frameworks towards sustainable development;
- Integrate knowledge and research findings to generate a range of alternative scenarios by modelling, visualising, projecting and evaluating the potential impacts of these on urban environments and their communities;
- Demonstrate advanced competence, encompassing proficient written, visual, design, graphic and verbal skills, to communicate complex planning ideas and findings effectively;
- Apply ethical decision-making in relation to understanding impacts of change on community and stakeholders, demonstrating a responsible approach to planning and design;
- Adapt to evolving urban transformation challenges, seek new knowledge, and engage in continuous self-directed learning.
