This course will prepare you to work in actuarial and risk management fields. You will also progress toward qualifications to become an accredited Actuary. Depending on academic results you may receive accreditation for the Foundation Program and most of the Actuary Program recognised by the Actuaries Institute. You will be prepared for careers in the business and financial sectors, with a specific focus on actuarial and mathematical modelling and forecasting roles.

You must complete 42 credit points comprising: - 30 credit points from the list of units below; and - any two Level 5 units from the Faculty of Business and Economics. Notes - The following units are specifically allocated for actuarial exemption/accreditation purposes: ETC5252, ETC5256, ETC5342, ETC5343, ETC5346, ETC5352, ETC5353, ETC5550 - Any student coming into this course with existing Actuaries Institute exemptions based on prior undergraduate study may be able to receive credit for some or all of the Part A units, and preclusions for some or all of the Part C Specialist list, which will allow them to choose other Level 5 units to replace these.

You must complete 12 credit points of elective study at either Level 4 or Level 5. Elective units may be chosen from the Faculty of Business and Economics or across the University so long as you have the prerequisites and there are no restrictions on enrolling in the units.
