Research skills are important across a range of academic and industry contexts. The unit introduces critical and practical approaches to research in the social sciences. The unit will focus on equipping you with specific skills in quantitative and qualitative research methods. The material is framed within an ongoing review of key ethical and critical concepts.

Learning outcomes
- Identify key differences between quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and methods in the arts and social sciences;
- Perform data collection and analysis for specific research methods;
- Assess socio-political and ethical implications of research projects in a range of contexts and understand protocols to address them;
- Evaluate the suitability of research methods for different research objectives and projects.
