In this unit, you will have the opportunity to work on a real-world innovation project. You will develop an understanding of the theoretical frameworks underpinning contemporary approaches to innovation including Design Thinking. You will work in interdisciplinary project-based teams to gain practical experience in developing solutions to an authentic stakeholder brief. Projects will be overseen by stakeholders and an academic team. You will pitch your final project concept to an expert panel.

- apply innovation frameworks to real-world challenges;
- develop and implement communication and collaboration strategies within a team;
- develop and communicate ideas in a variety of formats for a range of audiences.
Workload
Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 144 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of scheduled learning activities and independent study. A unit requires on average three/four hours of scheduled activities per week. Scheduled activities may include a combination of teacher directed learning, peer directed learning and online engagement.
