Overview

You will engage in an industry placement of 432 hours with a self-sourced placement arranged by yourself or faculty facilitated placement. On placement, you will apply the knowledge, skills and practices developed in your academic studies and, with the guidance of mentors and colleagues, build further IT expertise and professional awareness. Throughout the placement, you reflect on your experiences to optimise your professional development. You will commence your placement prior to the census date, either in semester 1 or semester 2, or summer semester.

Requisites

Prerequisites: you must have successfully completed 48 credit points towards your FIT Masters degree (FIT5122 can be taken as a co-requisite) and have achieved an overall average of at least 80% across all Level 5 units and achieved an overall course average of 70%.

Learning outcomes

  5. Produce professional documentation and reports that communicate complex analysis and recommendations to diverse stakeholders;
  6. Critically reflect on professional performance, integrate industry feedback, and develop a strategic plan for ongoing professional development.

On placement (432 hours), you are deployed with an approved industry partner of the work professional placement program in a role within the company.
