The unit will explore approaches to the study and practice of environmental justice, and ask students to think critically about how laws and legal systems impact environmental justice. The unit may examine issues from a range of domestic, international, comparative, and policy perspectives.

Learning outcomes

1. Identify and apply fundamental legal principles governing environmental justice.
2. Critically analyse and persuasively evaluate key concepts and policies in environmental justice, contextualised within a broad range of practice, policy and theoretical perspectives.
3. Conduct research, analyse and synthesise complex information in order to respond to complex issues relating to environmental justice.
4. Communicate effectively and persuasively to a range of topics in environmental justice.
