Overview

This unit explores the law and policy of financial regulation from a comparative perspective. The unit will explore approaches to financial regulation and ask students to think critically about the policy choices underlying various approaches to financial regulation.

Learning outcomes

  1. Apply advanced knowledge and demonstrated understanding of legal principles governing financial regulation through a comparative lens.
  2. Critically analyse and persuasively evaluate key concepts and policies in comparative financial regulation, contextualised within a broad range of practice, policy and theoretical perspectives;
  3. Undertake research in order to analyse and synthesise complex information in response to complex issues relating to comparative financial regulation.
  4. Demonstrate engaging, detailed, and persuasive communication across a range of topics in comparative financial regulation.
