Overview

This unit is the capstone studio to the Multimedia Design specialisation within the Master of Design. You are required to engage with self-initiated major studio projects that demonstrate an advanced-level application of multimedia design. The projects will serve as a vehicle providing you with a means to undertake creative decision-making; apply your design, media and technical capabilities; and exercise a professional understanding of multimedia design practice. Preliminary research and project development will be undertaken in consultation with the studio supervisors.

Learning outcomes

  1. Critically analyse multimedia design principles, tools, and professional practices to support advanced project development;
  2. Apply independent research, problem-solving methodologies, and advanced technical skills to conceptualise, design, and implement innovative multimedia solutions;
  3. Integrate multimedia principles, technical expertise, and user experience to develop cohesive, audience-relevant digital media outcomes;
  4. Evaluate the societal impact of multimedia design, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure ethical and inclusive design solutions;
  5. Demonstrate ethical responsibility and social awareness by designing multimedia solutions that promote inclusivity, accessibility, and positive community impact;
  6. Engage in continuous learning and self-reflection to remain adaptive to emerging technologies, methodologies, and trends in multimedia design.
