Overview

Digital communication is significantly transforming business communication in every industry. Due to the continuous advancement of technology (such as Industry 4.0 technologies) and globalised nature of the business, it is important to grow effective and ethical communication skill by developing the knowledge about the basic principles behind digital communication. This unit teaches these principles that encompass interpersonal and group communication skills to support critical thinking and decision making in a globalised digital world.

2. identify the role of digital communication in management, teams, conflict, and problem-solving
3. analyse one's own and others' communication styles across digital platforms
4. apply digital communication to create professional, ethical and sustainable futures for people and the environment.

Workload

Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 144 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of scheduled learning activities and independent study. Independent study may include associated readings, assessment and preparation for scheduled activities. You are expected to complete all pre-class activities prior to your scheduled class, and post-class activities should be completed after your scheduled class. Learning activities may include a combination of teacher directed, peer directed and online engagement activities.
