In this clinical placement unit you will be required to complete both a campus based block of study and a disability or chronic disease focused clinical placement. This unit will enable you to build upon your knowledge and experience to further develop the competencies required for working within the community to promote independence and physical ability across the lifespan. The two-week campus based intensive will expose you to expert practice in a range of masterclasses, focused on ethical and culturally sensitive client driven, integrated practice. Paediatric physiotherapy knowledge and skills will be further developed. Processes for utilising support from Aboriginal Health Workers and other Indigenous health professionals will be introduced. Through the supervised clinical practice placement, you will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge and skills in assessment, treatment and client education, whilst working as part of a larger health care team. The professional, ethical and legal aspects of physiotherapy will be applied to practice, providing an opportunity to develop technical, clinical, personal and professional skills.
