Overview

This unit introduces key principles of medical law, ethics, and professional practice, alongside culturally safe and inclusive approaches to address racism and bias in healthcare. You will develop advanced skills in performing thyroid and breast ultrasound examinations, interpreting normal and abnormal findings, and applying evidence-based knowledge to support accurate clinical decision-making. The unit also emphasises effective communication and collaboration with patients and multidisciplinary teams, and encourages reflection on professional growth to enhance clinical practice.

Workload

Applied Sessions: 2 x hours per week (2 x 12 weeks = 24 hours) Tutorials: 3 hours per semester Teaching is all online.
