Structure

You must complete units as specified in Parts A, B, C and D (144 credit points): including 96 credit points of study in Parts A, B and C, and 48 points of electives in Part D. In choosing your units, you must ensure that you complete no more than 60 credit points at unit Level 1 and at least 36 credit points at unit Level 3, including 24 credit points at unit Level 3 offered by the Faculty of Business and Economics. You will complete one major in the Bachelor of Commerce (B2001). You may also complete an additional major within the Bachelor of Commerce, using your electives. Some majors and minors include the same units. Where this occurs, up to 12 credit points may be shared between: - two majors; or - a major and a minor. Note: Units can only count toward one minor. They cannot be shared across multiple minors.

You must complete 42 credit points, comprising: - 36 credit points from the following list; and - 6 credit points from the Specified commerce units. Notes: - You must complete either ACC1100 or ACC1001 (one accounting unit). - If you intend to complete a major in Accounting or Actuarial Studies, you must complete ACC1100. - If you are undertaking the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce course (L3005), BTC1110 in Part A must be replaced with a Commerce elective.

You must complete at least one major from the list below. Depending on the major chosen, you may have already completed one of the required units as part of your core studies. If so, you must complete an additional unit from anywhere across the University in place of the duplicated unit to ensure you meet the total credit point requirements for the course. Notes: - You may complete an additional major within the Bachelor of Commerce. Some majors and minors include the same units. Where this occurs, up to 12 credit points may be shared between two majors or a major and a minor. Units can only count toward one minor. They cannot be shared across multiple minors. - If you are intending to undertake an honours year, you should ensure you complete the specific units required for honours in your chosen major area of study.

You must complete one unit (6, 12 or 24 credit points) from the Faculty’s capstone portfolio of units which includes capstone units, consulting projects, international experiences and internships (industry placements). Notes: - If you choose a 12 or 24 credit point unit it will reduce the amount of points available for electives in Part D which may impact on your ability to complete a major using electives. - If you are completing a major in Accounting and seeking professional accounting accreditation you need to complete ACX3900. You can undertake more than one unit from the following lists, which will count towards your electives.

You must complete 48 credit points of elective study. Electives can be chosen from: - Part B (as listed above) to complete a second major; - One or more minors (as listed below); - Units not already completed in Part B or Part C above provided you have met the relevant prerequisites; - Units from across the University, which may be used to complete a major or minor from another course, provided you have met the relevant prerequisites and there are no enrolment restrictions. Notes: - Enrolment in Faculty of Business and Economics units at campuses other than the campus of enrolment is subject to there being capacity after students from that campus have enrolled. - If you are in a double degree course, some units required for the other degree are credited as electives towards this Commerce degree.

Majors, minors and specialisations
