You will learn advanced techniques used in both clinical and research immunology settings. You will design experimental protocols; appreciating the importance of experimental and quality controls in research design and linking laboratory findings with clinical problems. The unit is laboratory based, incorporating small group in-class discussions covering theoretical aspects of the content. You will choose an emerging area of research, design experiments that could investigate this research and present this in a range of research settings.

- Perform research and diagnostic laboratory techniques, laboratory skills and calculations;
- Implement safe and competent scientific work-practices;

- Accurately record, analyse and report experimental outcomes;
- Synthesise and present experimental findings in the context of relevant scientific literature.
