Overview

In this unit, you will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to design, lead, and implement quality improvement (QI) initiatives within prehospital and critical care settings. Centred around a student-led QI research project, you will apply critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills in the independent management of a chosen area of prehospital, critical care paramedic practice. You will integrate knowledge and skills in leadership, mentorship and emotional intelligence to effect change management while applying educational strategies that enable capacity development of your colleagues. The knowledge and skills you will gain in this unit, will enable you to collaborate effectively in translating research-based evidence into professional practice. Further to this you will learn to conceptualise feedback provided and reflect on your professional growth. In doing so, you will become a future-facing paramedic leader, capable of safe, effective and sustainable change within complex systems of care.
