During this unit, you will undertake a 5 week elective clinical placement. This provides the opportunity to apply and expand integrated knowledge and skills from previous learning in the Bachelor of Physiotherapy to patient care in various health care consumers in a diverse range of health care related settings. You are expected to spend 32 hours per week during clinical education in a health service or elective placement facilities with additional self-directed study hours. Additional study time will be required for completion of self-directed assessment tasks.

Assessment in this unit includes hurdle assessment tasks. Failure of any hurdle assessment task may result in failure of the unit. Supplementary assessment is not available for the Semester 2 and Summer semester B offerings of this unit.

Learning outcomes
- Engage in critically reflective practice of learning needs, clinical performance, and patient care;

Workload
Clinical placement: You will be allocated 32 contact hours per week for 5 weeks. Variations to placement hours may occur due to public holidays, host organisation factors, or student absences. Make-up placement time may be offered at the discretion of the Department and only when convenient for the organisation in which the placement is taking place. In addition to contact hours, you are expected to complete approximately 8 hours/week of self-directed study related to your clinical placement.
