Overview

In this unit, you continue to build upon your knowledge to further develop the competencies required for independent practice as a physiotherapist. You will reflect on your clinical experience to date in the Doctor of Physiotherapy and integrate it with self-directed modules on quality improvement, risk, and patient safety.

Learning outcomes

  1. Analyse the risk of conflict in clinical practice and formulate appropriate strategies to address and mitigate the risk.
  2. Integrate and apply principles of quality improvement and risk management to enhance clinical practice.
  3. Appraise and synthesise evidence to inform person-centred clinical decisions.
  4. Critically reflect on practice experiences to identify gaps in knowledge, clinical reasoning and technical skills, and formulate realistic strategies to address them.

Workload

Off-campus: During the weeks (approximately 7) where you are not on clinical placement (for PTY5308) an average of 16 hours of online modules and private study will be required, per week.
