Overview

This unit expands your knowledge and skills by focusing on advanced principles and methodologies for designing innovative interactions and multimedia experiences. You will explore how design engages with technology and media across various contexts. Through hands-on projects, you will experiment with advanced tools, data gathering, and production methods to solve complex design challenges, preparing you for professional practice and real-world design applications.

Learning outcomes

  1. Demonstrate understanding of the core elements and principles of design, including the technical processes involved in contemporary design production;
  2. Apply design principles and skills to create and manipulate images, shapes, and forms, and apply advanced production methods to solve design problems;
  3. Integrate research with advanced skills and technologies to create solutions for contemporary design challenges;
  4. Demonstrate an understanding of the social, cultural, and ethical impact of design on diverse stakeholders;
  5. Demonstrate the role of design practice in ethically addressing a range of complex societal challenges;
  6. Develop advanced strategies for on-going self-directed learning and continuous improvement in design skills.
