Overview

This unit builds on NUR5411 in the consultation sequence exploring the advanced management of common conditions. It further extends your knowledge and skills relating to the clinical reasoning process to enable you to plan and implement evidence-informed interventions. You will develop the skills required to analyse the clinical, cultural and professional factors that influence nurse practitioner clinical decision making. This includes promoting a holistic model of care and recognition of and respect for cultural identity and lifestyle choices. Additionally, in this unit you will examine contemporary professional issues that impact upon nurse practitioner practice and inform the scope of the nurse practitioner role in specific practice areas.
