Overview

In this clinical placement unit, you will be required to complete a 5-week full time clinical placement in either an acute, subacute/ rehabilitation setting. This unit will enable you to build upon your knowledge and experience to develop the competencies required for independent practice as a physiotherapist. Through supervised practice, you will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge and skills in assessment, treatment and client education, whilst working as part of a larger health care team. The professional, ethical and legal aspects of physiotherapy will be applied to practice, providing an opportunity to develop technical, clinical, personal and professional skills. Additional study includes an analysis of client transitions through health services and the use of audit to improve clinical practice.
