AustraliaYou may qualify for additional funding for overseas travel, including both internal and external sources. Usually you will need to apply directly for these schemes, funding and availability for which can vary year-to-year.

Assessment Criteria - New Colombo Plan Mobility Program
AustraliaA limited number of grants up to $6,000 each are available to Monash University students for a selection of undergraduate Global Study Tours and Language Intensive Programs. These grants are awarded on the basis of the number of available grants.
Assessment Criteria - New Colombo Plan Semester Program
AustraliaA limited number of grants up to $15,000 each are available to Monash University students for study in a specific field of study in Indo-Pacific countries at selected exchange partners. If the number of available grants is less than the number of eligible students, students are selected on evaluation of their personal statement (if this was part of the program selection), on academic merit (the WAM in the student’s current degree at the time of being accepted into the program) and equity indicators..
Australian Consortium for 'In-Country' Indonesian Studies (ACICIS)
AustraliaMonash is a member of the Australian Consortium for ‘In-Country’ Indonesian Studies (ACICIS), which provides students with the opportunity to study in Indonesia.
Costs and funding (Monash Malaysia)
MalaysiaWith the partner university exchange agreements in place, you pay your tuition fees in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) to Monash University Malaysia. You do not need to pay tuition fees to the host university where you pursuing your exchange semester.

Global Student-Led Initiatives

Global Summer and Winter Programs (Monash Malaysia)
MalaysiaStudy for a short period overseas at one of our partner universities, in either the Monash winter (June-July) or summer (December-February) breaks. These experiences are usually worth between 6 and 12 credits, depending on the duration of the program.
Global Summer and Winter Programs - Global Study Experiences
AustraliaAll students are instructed to avoid travel to and via the Middle East due to the escalating security tensions in the region. You must not book flights that transit via the affected region and any country listed by DFAT Smartraveller as Level 3: Reconsider your need for travel or Level 4: Do not travel. If you travel to regions or countries with these ratings, you will not be covered by the Monash University travel insurance.

Global Work Integrated Learning
AustraliaYou may be required to complete Global Work Integrated Learning (or GWIL, sometimes referred to as an ‘internship’) as part of your degree or certification requirements - they are especially common in degrees such as Engineering, Medicine, Nursing and Health Science, Education and IT.
