Structure

The course requires the completion of 204 credit points structured into five parts: Part A. Core studies, Part B. Education studies, Part C. Curriculum studies, Part D. Discipline studies and Part E. Professional experience and any special course requirements. Students must also complete the Supporting studies.

A six-unit discipline sequence (36 credit points) chosen from the discipline studies list with at least 12 credit points each at Levels 2 and 3. If you have entered the course via the Diploma of Higher Education you complete only four units in the discipline area.

You must complete the following units. Note: You must complete 80 days of supervised professional experience in primary and secondary schools. *International students who wish to meet current AITSL skill assessment requirements for secondary teachers must complete EDF3083 Secondary professional experience 3D in place of EDF3082 Secondary professional experience 3A. EDF3083 provides the required 10 days of professional experience to meet course requirements, plus an additional 5 days of professional experience in a secondary setting, totalling 15 days of placement.
